Lite Life SPA is located in the centre of one of the most renowned areas of Naples: Posillipo. Everyone at least once in their life has heard of the unique beauty of this district, which after decades retains its charm and scents intact.
Posillipo is not only landscapes and breathtaking views, it is also historic buildings and culture. One of these buildings, undoubtedly the most important, is the Donn’Anna palace.
The Donn’Anna palace is only ten minutes away from the SPA Lite Life. You will thus have the opportunity to see one of Naples’ historical sites, after or before (the choice is yours) receiving one of the treatments at the city’s largest SPA: Lite Life.
THE HISTORY OF THE DONN’ANNA BUILDING
The Donn’Anna building is one of the wonders of Naples. A palace that overlooks and almost dives into the waters of the gulf. The building dates back to the 17th century, to be precise 1640. It was built by the architect Cosimo Fanzago, on behalf of Anna Carafa (after whom it is named). Anna Carafa, or more simply Donn’Anna, was the consort of Viceroy Ramiro Nunez de Guzman, Duke of Medina de las Torres. The building was never completed due to Donn’Anna’s untimely death. Since then, legends and traditions about it have made it one of the most fascinating and mysterious palaces in the entire Gulf of Naples.
HOW DONN’ANNA PALACE IS TODAY
Passed from hand to hand over the centuries, the Donn’Anna palace is now used as a private residence, but one can enjoy its beauty and architecture from the outside.
Ancient and mysterious legends are linked to this palace, such as those written by Matilde Serao.
The proximity of the Lite Life SPA to the Donn’Anna palace will add charm, mystery and culture to the treatment, and who knows, you might even meet Donn’Anna’s ghost!
